Speech & Language Therapy

Speech refers to the production of sounds, created through the coordination of your lungs, vocal folds, and the muscles in your mouth. It’s a complex process that most of us take for granted—but at bAACTalk!, we focus on it carefully to help your child improve their speech clarity and intelligibility.

Language involves both understanding (receptive language) and expressing (expressive language) thoughts and ideas. Effective communication requires a balance of both. Language skills include following directions, understanding stories, organizing ideas, forming sentences, and using proper grammar, among other essential aspects.

Augmentative and Alternative
Communication (AAC) Therapy

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) encompasses all forms of communication beyond verbal speech used to express thoughts and ideas. This includes tools like sign language, pictures, speech-generating devices, keyboards, written text, and even AI technology. As technology evolves, so does the world of AAC, offering new opportunities for individuals who benefit from these tools.

At bAACTalk!, we’re here to guide you through every step of the AAC journey—whether it’s educating you on options, exploring different tools, conducting trials, or assisting with insurance requests for AAC devices.

Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy helps children develop the skills necessary for safe, enjoyable eating. Our specialists work one-on-one with your child to address challenges such as picky eating, texture sensitivities, and oral motor difficulties. Using personalized strategies, we aim to make mealtime a positive and stress-free experience for your entire family.

We’re dedicated to building a strong foundation for healthy eating habits, encouraging both confidence and independence. Whether your child struggles with certain textures or has difficulty chewing and swallowing, our goal is to ensure they receive proper nutrition while exploring and enjoying a wider variety of foods.

Consulting

Are you currently working with an SLP or school team who is not familiar or comfortable with AAC? We can help by providing consultative services to assist in providing education on how to explore devices, what needs to be considered, and how to more forward with the purchase of a device. Consulting services are offered in 2 hour blocks either virtually or in person.

We think outside the box.

We care about creating genuine connections between people and meeting clients and families where they are without judgement. We strive to ask curious questions, follow evidence in the field, and to think outside of the box for therapy to be as effective as possible.

With experience in multiple different settings and these core values at our center, our founder, Katie, decided to open her own private practice.

From the very beginning, Katie communicated clearly and provided unwavering support. She patiently explained every step, making sure I felt confident and informed. Thanks to her guidance, my son has shown progress and improvements in his communication abilities over the past year, and I am beyond grateful for the positive impact she has had on our lives.
